This was on the UK.REC.CAVING newsgroup a couple of days ago..... "The caver who died was Pete Fowler. He was diving with twin tanks accompanied by another very experienced diver in Ogof Pont-y-Meirw, = which is near Merthyr. The reason for Pete's death is unclear - I believe he = was found by the following diver very close to air, on the return journey through the sump. My understanding is that the bottles he was using = should have been more than sufficient for the dive, although they were empty = when he was found, and that he had the experience and skill to deal with the cave; he did not become entangled or lost. I cannot therefore = understand why he died and hope that the pathologist and inquest will bring this = to light. I have no doubt that the next issue of Descent will carry more = information." Don't know any more.
